Inspired by Jaipur’s historic gem markets and the region’s legacy of gemstone artistry, they envisioned a workshop where ethical sourcing, scientific expertise, and creative design converged. From our modest beginnings in a 500-square-foot studio near Johari Bazaar—surrounded by vibrant gemstone traders—GemStudio has grown into a leading atelier with state-of-the-art cutting equipment, in-house CAD/CAM facilities, and a dedicated team of over twenty artisans.
Our mission is to honor the intrinsic beauty of each rough gemstone, unveiling its hidden brilliance through precise cutting and polishing methods. We strictly adhere to ethical procurement, partnering only with certified miners and suppliers who comply with fair-trade and environmental standards. Each incoming rough undergoes rigorous quality assessment by our gemologists, who measure clarity, refractive index, and crystal orientation to determine the optimal cutting axis. By aligning facet designs with the stone’s internal structure, we maximize light return, ensuring vivid color saturation and exceptional brilliance—whether the stone is a Kashmir sapphire, Ceylon ruby, or a rare paraiba tourmaline.
Beyond gemcutting, GemStudio places a strong emphasis on innovative jewelry design. Our in-house design team integrates traditional Indian motifs—such as meenakari enameling and kundan influences—with modern aesthetics, using advanced CAD/CAM to prototype intricate settings before fabrication. Clients collaborate directly with designers through personalized consultations, where sketches, 3D renders, and metal-finish samples are presented. We employ a multi-step fabrication process: wax modeling or direct metal 3D printing, casting in recycled gold or platinum, hand-setting of gemstones, and meticulous finishing—polishing, rhodium plating, or custom texturing. Each jewelry piece passes through a six-point quality check, ensuring structural integrity, gem security, and flawless surface finishes before packaging.

We regularly host workshops for aspiring lapidaries and jewelry designers, covering topics such as precision faceting, color-grading fundamentals, and modern digital design techniques.
